*This item may not be shipped and a pick up/drop off must be arranged. TASTING NOTES Even in warmer years, the cooler-climate personality of the Las Madres Vineyard shines through. Redolent of Mediterranean herbs, smoked meat, pepper and black olive, the 2012 showcases the best of old world aromatics and new world muscle. While it may be our largest scale Las Madres to date, it remains our most savory Syrah. Very little new oak was employed and we upped the whole cluster fermentation to 75% to accentuate the distinctive black olive tapenade character we love so much. More generously fruited than our 2011, we’re guessing the 2012 Las Madres is going to continue making new friends amongst both Syrah enthusiasts and wine lovers in general. As with our other 2012 Syrah (and most of our reds in any year) please decant if consumed young. And if you can, let it sleep for year or two in your cellar. We’ll do our best to follow our own advice!
